GeneSprout's Ann Wu Named to Inaugural Rising Stars in Healthcare Innovation List
Startup Physicians' new recognition program honors physician founders at the earliest stage of building their companies.
Startup Physicians today named GeneSprout’s founder and CEO Ann Wu, MD MPH to its inaugural Rising Stars in Healthcare Innovation list. The new program honors physician founders early — before the revenue-and-scale awards catch up. The 2026 cohort of 15 includes physician entrepreneurs working across AI primary care, oncology, genomics, cardiac therapeutics, and clinical data.
Ann founded GeneSprout after 20 years at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her research there — more than 200 publications in pediatric genomics — argued that actionable genes should be screened for at birth. GeneSprout is the company built to make that screening accessible to families.
